Beautiful places for October walks and photography at VDNH
Oak Grove — Дубовая роща This grove is a true ‘place of energy’, where the magnificent English oaks offer a sense of strength. Many of its trees are more than 200 years old.
Aerial Eco-Trail — Воздушная экотропа A metal walkway supported by spiral columns winds for about 500 metres through the foliage of Sheremetyevskaya Oak Grove (Шереметьевская дубрава). It offers beautiful views of the park, walking areas and dense woodland. The lights come on in the evening.
Pear Alley — Грушевая аллея The alley is a cultural heritage site of federal significance. There are 38 surviving pear trees on the northern side of the path and 34 on the southern side.
Green Maze — Зеленый лабиринт The maze is in VDNH's Nature of Entertainment (Природа развлечений) park area. It is a landscaped maze created with plants and garden design.
Northern Rose Garden — Северный розарий The Northern Rose Garden is currently enjoying the final rose blooms of the year, offering plenty of opportunities for memorable photographs.
About VDNH
VDNH, the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy (Выставка достижений народного хозяйства), is an exhibition complex in the Ostankinsky District of Moscow's North-Eastern Administrative Okrug. It is the largest exhibition complex in Moscow.
Its name has changed over time as follows.
1939–1959: All-Union Agricultural Exhibition (ВСХВ, Всесоюзная сельскохозяйственная выставка)
1959–1992: Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy of the USSR (ВДНХ СССР, Выставка достижений народного хозяйства СССР)
1992–2014: All-Russia Exhibition Centre (ВВЦ, Всероссийский выставочный центр)
Today: Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy (ВДНХ)
VDNH is considered one of the world's 50 largest exhibition centres.
Around 30 million people visit VDNH each year. On 1 August 2019, it celebrated the 80th anniversary of its opening.
